When Work Enters the Workflow - Approval Status
The approval status of a piece of work indicates when that work enters the workflow.
All work in TrafficLIVE has an approval status of Approved or Pending.
- Work that is approved is displayed in the allocated person's work list immediately, and if the allocated time is within the next week, that person is notified.
- Work that is pending is not displayed in the allocated person's work list. It is displayed to the scheduler and awaits his or her approval.
The way that this works in TrafficLIVE depends on:
- Settings in Admin that control the default approval status. In general, the larger the business, the more likely work is to require approval before being released.
- Your individual permissions. These may or may not allow you to approve work.
When you make resource requests in the Job Schedule, you can see if the person whom you are requesting is double-booked, and by looking at the Staff Overview (if you have the correct permissions), you can see what he or she is doing. This allows you to consider that person's availability before making a double-booking request.
Change the Approval Status
You can change the approval status on the Job Schedule page if you have the required permissions. However, this is more often performed in the Staff Scheduler.
